Position Summary
Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Diesel Technician! The Diesel Technician is responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of medium to heavy duty fleet vehicles to ensure a safe and efficient operation. The Diesel Technician position requires a high level of proficiency and working knowledge related to heavy duty diesel engine diagnosis and repair, a comprehension of fleet maintenance operations, electrical systems, preventative maintenance, and DOT inspection experience and knowledge.
Compensation: Competitive hourly pay – paid weekly, every Friday! $32–$36 per hour, depending on experience.
Potential sign‑on bonus, up to $5,000.
Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:30 am – 2:30 pm

What the Diesel Technician role looks like:
- Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on medium to heavy duty vehicles
- Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
- Inspect and perform work on the underparts of vehicles
- Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles
- Interact with clients through email or phone as necessary
- Perform other duties as required
What our ideal candidate looks like:
- At least 5 years’ experience performing vehicle maintenance or a diploma in auto or diesel technology from an accredited technical school
- Commercial Driver’s License class “A” or “B” is a plus
- Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
- Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.
- Knowledge of hand‑held scan tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles.
- Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, fleet management systems, and email.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
