Overview

Immediate opening for a SOLO Class A CDL Truck Driver. We are looking for the right Trucker to join Ryder in Cedar Falls, IA.

We offer options for drivers transitioning from Owner Operator to Company Driver. We will provide training and support to help you succeed.

• Safely drive a commercial vehicle and comply with safety & DOT regulations, with ongoing training and customer service expectations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and agency standards; detect and minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs; load/unload freight as required by the customer.
• Other related tasks as assigned.

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test and Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from the previous 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical and a Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Verifiable Class A experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months in the past 3 years, or 2 years in the past 5 years, or 5 years in the past 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions; ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

• Weekly pay with drivers paid for solo miles and stops:
  Solo Miles Pay $0.56 per mile with 2500 miles/week;
  Solo Stops Pay $13.00 per stop with 7 stops/week.
• Paid training; schedule varies; start time 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
• Trucks are three years or newer; 24/7 roadside maintenance by Ryder-trained technicians; access to 800+ maintenance facilities.
• Delivery to IA, MN, IL, SD & WI; local home daily; day cab tractors; dry van (53’).
• Endorsements training reimbursements; no-touch freight; end-to-end support for career advancement.
