Responsibilities
  • Drive the flow of clients and pets through the hospital to maximize the productivity of the veterinary medical team and ensure good communication with associates and clients.
  • Actively recruit new clients by promoting hospital services and route the flow of clients and pets to ensure superior client care and maximum productivity.
  • Maximize the number of pets seen by the hospital team through a productive and efficiently run hospital to support wellness plan clients.
  • Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service at all times; welcome clients and pets, ensure comfort, and educate clients about their pet's health.
  • Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventative care, pet health needs and hospital services.
  • Assist incoming clients by completing required documentation, entering pet information and history, and ensuring prompt service.
  • Assist outgoing clients with instructions, information, invoices, dispensing prescription items per the veterinarian's instructions, selling retail products, and scheduling future appointments.
  • Manage finances by maintaining accurate balances and following opening and closing procedures.
  • Conduct administrative functions as necessary.
Qualifications and Capabilities
  • One year related experience preferred; customer service background is valuable.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties involving radiography (x-ray).
  • Medical background (veterinary technician, human healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.) with medical terminology training is preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy under distraction.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; proficient with basic computer software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Client service skills with a focus on attentive, courteous, and informative service.
  • Initiative, integrity, cooperativeness, flexibility, independence, resilience, and teamwork.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work at a computer for long periods and to be confident around pets (dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc.).
  • Hours may exceed 40 per week, including weekends and evenings.
  • Moderately high noise level; physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, manual dexterity, and vision requirements.
