As a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. Technicians are often the first point of contact to assist patients and customers, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely and accurately while providing caring service that exceeds expectations. Technicians operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices and effective communication.
Throughout shifts, they demonstrate genuine care and contribute to a safe and inclusive culture where all people feel valued.
Technicians are required to complete a rigorous company training program, satisfy all registration, licensing and certification requirements according to their State’s Board of Pharmacy guidelines, and meet a Pharmacy Manager’s approval before full duties are granted.
Responsibilities- Follow company SOPs at each workstation to assist pharmacists in patient health management.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Deliver a high‑quality patient experience by showing empathy, offering immunizations and other services, and resolving or escalating patient problems.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks and waiting‑bin inventories as permitted by law.
- Expand clinical and technical knowledge, embrace a growth mindset, and seek feedback.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including travel to additional store locations.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards and CVS policies related to patient safety, controlled‑substance dispensing, recordkeeping and privacy.
- Deliver additional patient health‑care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and voluntary staffing of off‑site clinics) where allowed by law and with required training.
- Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
- Educate patients on vaccine importance and refer vaccine questions to pharmacist‑on‑duty.
- Monitor and respond to adverse reactions, reporting per public‑health requirements.
- Collect and document patient information for each applicable patient.
- Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
- Meet state board of pharmacy requirements, including age, education and licensure/certification.
- Minimum educational requirement: high‑school diploma or equivalent, or be enrolled in high‑school or equivalency program.
- State‑level licensure and national certification, if required.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Complete required training within designated timeframe.
- Maintain focus and attention to detail; e.g., confirm prescription accuracy and label safety.
- Provide friendly customer service and team orientation.
- Use verbal and written communication skills, active listening, and clarity.
- Apply mathematical reasoning for dosage calculations.
- Identify and resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 20 lbs, repetitive typing, and reaching overhead.
- Other duties as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
- 1–3 years of prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical or customer‑service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store or travel to other market locations.

Hours:
29 - Time Type: Part time
- Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
