Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) About The Role

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with Cedar Park TMS
, you will be at the forefront of providing compassionate, evidence‑based mental health care to individuals and families in need. You’ll conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnose and treat a range of behavioral health conditions, and develop holistic treatment plans that promote long‑term wellness and recovery. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team – including physicians, therapists, case managers, and nurses – you’ll play an essential role in integrating behavioral and physical health care to improve patient outcomes.

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments to diagnose and evaluate mental health and co‑occurring conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating therapy, medication management, and supportive interventions.
• Provide ongoing medication management including prescribing, monitoring effectiveness, and managing side effects.
• Deliver compassionate psychotherapy and counseling to patients and families to promote understanding and adherence to treatment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care, timely communication, and holistic support.
• Maintain accurate, compliant clinical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Participate in care coordination and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, and outcomes.

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
• National certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP‑BC).
• DEA registration and prescriptive authority for controlled substances.

• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in behavioral health or psychiatric settings.
• Strong background in psychopharmacology, therapy, and crisis intervention.
• Experience working with individuals in IOP, PHP, or community mental health programs.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and another language.

• Empathetic communication and clinical counseling to support patients navigating mental health challenges.
• Comprehensive assessment and diagnostic acumen to identify underlying psychiatric and medical conditions.
• Medication management expertise with a focus on safety, adherence, and long‑term stability.
• Collaborative leadership within an interdisciplinary team environment.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills ensuring accuracy, compliance, and quality outcomes.
