Veterinary Assistant

Banfield Pet Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Assistant. This role supports veterinarians and veterinary technicians, helps ensure the safety of pets, clients and associates, and contributes to consistent quality veterinary care. • Provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service to clients and pets at all times.
• Use technical skills daily within state practice acts and NAVTA guidelines for veterinary assistant duties.
• Help maintain the flow of patients.
• Communicate effectively with the veterinarian and veterinary technicians.
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or veterinary technician assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards to keep pets safe and to keep treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs clean and organized.
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and the importance of preventive care.
• Mentor other members of the hospital team.

• Education/Licenses:
  Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience:
  
  Demonstrated ability to perform NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program skills at a level that supports practice efficiency.
