Our NAPBC-accredited Breast Center houses breast surgery, genetic counseling, and medical oncologywithin the same clinic andisimmediatelyadjacent toour

Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. We are supported bydedicated nurse navigators andtwo advanced practice providerswho manage ourhigh riskand survivorship clinics and a robust and collaborativeacademicplastic surgery practice performing all forms of breast reconstruction.

This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals pursuing an academic career in breast surgery.

The successful applicant will beappointed as Assistant or Associate Professor in the University of Iowa Health Care Department of Surgery,Division of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgeryin either the non-tenure clinicaltrack or tenure track,consistent with experience and research interest.

This is an outstanding opportunity for early and mid-career academic surgeons to developacareer in breast surgical oncology with a leading academic medical center.

Candidates on the tenure track must have experience in research at a level that enables procurement of external funding.

Education Requirements
  • Candidates must hold an MD, DO, oran equivalentdegree.
  • Candidates must have completed training in all phases of General Surgery.
  • Completion of a fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncologyor Complex General Surgical Oncology is required
  • Certifications
  • Board eligibility/certification from the American Board of Surgery.
Desired Qualifications

Applicants with established research areencouragedand appointment to the tenure track requires research experience at a level which enables procurement of outside funding.
