Position will begin in the  school year.

• Under direction of professional staff work with students individually or in group settings.
• Assist with supervision of students (classroom, cafeteria, halls, etc.).
• Implement behavior management strategies.
• May include riding the bus with students.
• May include working one‑to‑one with a student to complete assigned tasks.
• Assure student supervision and safety.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Assist students with necessary health assistance under guidance of nurses.
• Assist in the preparation of materials used in the educational process.
• Assist students at mealtime.
• Assist students in personal hygiene areas.
• Help get students to and from bus or car.

• Two‑year post‑secondary education or Para educator certificate or qualifying score on NCRC assessment test.
• Willingness to assume responsibility.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Flexibility in working with classroom teachers.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to effectively supervise students while maintaining a positive relationship with them.
• Capable of representing the school in a professional manner, including confidentiality, communication skills, and dress.
• Regular attendance.

Teacher Associate, 7 hours per day, $17.10/hr.

The work environment is usually quiet and may require working beyond typical hours, indoors and outdoors supervising classroom and campus activities.
