Early Learning Para - 3 hours/day - Johnson Elementary

Responsibilities- Supervise students.
- Work with students individually or in group settings under the direction of professional staff.
- Consistently monitor student learning and behaviors.
- Be available to meet any student needs, including health, toileting, behavior, and self‑help skills.
- Attend district workshops and trainings to continue learning about Early Childhood Education.
- Other duties as assigned.
Teacher Associates
Three hours per day – four days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
Pay: $16.10/hr

QualificationsMust have at least 12 credit hours in early childhood education, a current CDA credential, or two years post‑secondary education or Para educator certificate.
Required to obtain pediatric first aid and CPR.
- Willingness to assume responsibility.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Flexibility in working with classroom teachers.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Enjoy working with preschool‑age children.
- Ability to effectively supervise students while maintaining a positive relationship with them.

Physical Demands- Stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle objects; talk and hear.
- Squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and forward 0 to 24 inches and on occasion up to 36 inches.
- Bend or twist at the neck/trunk more than average person.
- Frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs at 0-12 feet, occasionally up to 20 feet.
- Push/pull items such as tables and carts.
- Requires close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Quiet noise level; works indoors and outdoors supervising students.
- Work often in different areas of the classroom including desks, floor, standing, in movement while supervising indoor and outdoor activities.
- Temperature usually indoor but occasionally outdoors.
