Overview
This position will require onsite support in/around the Cedar Rapids Area supporting project needs with a hybrid work arrangement. You’ll spend three days a week in the office, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with a team of structural engineers and interface with engineers from other disciplines.
- Guide the work of less experienced project team members.
- Work on engineering projects for new nuclear facilities and upgrades/modifications to nuclear power plants in the following areas: materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design.
- Prepare and review design calculations, develop specifications, and support designers with drawing development. Opportunity to guide others in the development of engineering deliverables.
- Using state‑of‑the‑art computer tools, perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations.
- Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs (potential).
- BS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
- Five or more years of experience as a member of a project team in the design and analysis of structures.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP
2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS. - Proficiency with design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.

- MSCE degree.
- Experience with design and analysis of power plant and/or industrial structures.
- On‑site construction support experience.
- PE or SE license.
