Our client is a large American multinational company primarily providing avionics and information technology systems and services to governmental agencies and aircraft manufacturers.

Sr Mechanical Engineer - Comm Products Mechanical Design

• The Government Systems (GS) Communication Engineering Organization is seeking candidates for a contract Senior Mechanical Engineering position in the Communications Products Mechanical Design group.
• The position will support the electronics packaging design and development of communication and data link products for ground, shipboard and airborne applications.
• Our team is looking for innovative, determined and passionate engineers to quickly solve complex problems to support the packaging and design of military electronic communications products. This position is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Required Technical Skills/

Experience:

• Prior Rockwell Collins technical experience in mechanical engineering
• Applied knowledge of moderate to advanced mechanical engineering principles and techniques commonly used in product development
• Capable of performing mechanical design and analysis to meet severe environment system requirements
• Working knowledge of structural, dynamic and thermal analysis tools (e.g. ANSYS)

Desired Technical Skills/

Experience:

• Familiarity of electronic product packaging requirements
• Working knowledge of mechanical CAD tools (e.g. UG-NX)
• Knowledge in the area of design for low cost, manufacturability and small volume packaging
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-810 and MIL-S-901 requirements
• Ability to decompose mechanical requirements to support design efforts
• Candidates must have the ability to work in a team environment where the individual will interact with various engineering disciplines such as other mechanical engineers, electrical engineers and system engineers.

Pay Rate: $45-48.22/hr we pay weekly every Friday, have direct deposit, and offer a competitive benefits package:
