We are currently searching for a Systems Engineering Co-Op to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA. As a systems engineer in the Avionics Computing Products department, you will be part of a multi‑functional team comprised of systems and hardware engineers leading the development of all computing products for the Avionics Business Unit. Immerse yourself in a full‑time, Monday‑Friday co‑op session that will run May/June‑December (including the Fall semester;

it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

• Capture system requirements, design, test cases, and test procedures
• Integrate, validate, and verify system functionality in the lab
• Technical collaboration among design functional domains
• Assist in resolving technical problems that cross functional domain areas

• How to navigate thought the complex regulatory compliance requirements of the FAA and EASA
• Complex project coordination using Agile framework
• Complex troubleshooting skills that cross functional domains
• Avionics safety critical system design and compliance to DO-178C, DO-254

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

• Excellent communication skills to communicate technical issues and status in both written and oral form to internal and external customers.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the value of cooperating with team members.
