Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled CAD Technician who will play a pivotal role in designing and drafting for large industrial plants. The successful candidate will conduct site visits, draft initial rough sketches, and develop comprehensive detailed drawings primarily in 2D AutoCAD.
Responsibilities- Conduct site visits to gather necessary measurements and spatial information.
- Create rough drafts followed by detailed 2D drawings for various industrial plant components, including transitions, spouts, towers, and platforms.
- Utilize Google Earth for site layouts and measurements.
- Focus on mechanical drawings with no electrical components involved.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accuracy and feasibility of designs.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, specifically 2D design and drafting.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in a similar role.
- Ability to create both rough drafts and detailed drawings from scratch.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Revit is a plus.
- Previous experience in industrial plant design is advantageous.
This position is fully onsite, requiring willingness to travel 1-2 days per week, including some overnight stays. Per diem is provided for travel days. The role involves a 50-hour workweek and may require more travel initially for training and shadowing purposes. Candidates will remain in training until confident to perform independently.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
