Your primary responsibility will be working with our mechanical engineering team developing new solutions and helping to support ongoing process improvement initiatives for the Cedar Rapids, IA site. You should be capable of performing mechanical design and analysis to meet system requirements. You must have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. You will heavily utilize development and debug skills for the development of mechanical interfaces and components used on multi-rack automated test stations.
Develop and review product designs and analyze development and design requirements
Plan and manage tasks effectively Specific tasks include enclosure structural design, thermal, vibration, other environmental considerations, design verification, prototype build and production transition to the factory. Develop and implement process definitions, alignments, and streamlining initiatives to minimize administrative burden and enhance operational efficiency in mechanical engineering workflows.
** QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:
** Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design. Experience collaborating with engineering teams comprised of other mechanical engineers, mechanical drafters, electrical engineers, software engineers and system engineers. Working knowledge of Solidworks, NX Designer, AutoCAD, or similar design tools, and 3D printing.
Experience translating requirements into physical design.
