Transamerica is organized into three distinct businesses. These include
1) World Financial Group, including Transamerica Financial Advisors,
2) Protection Solutions and Savings & Investments, comprised of life insurance, annuities, employee benefits, retirement plans, and Transamerica Investment Solutions, and
3) Financial Assets, which includes legacy blocks of long term care, universal life, and variable and fixed annuities. These are supported by Transamerica Corporate, which includes Finance, People and Places, General Counsel, Risk, Internal Audit, Strategy and Development, and Corporate Affairs, which covers Communications, Brand, and Government and Policy Affairs.
* Support migration of global finance systems to US-based systems.
* Contribute to systems mapping and data flow exercises by analyzing large datasets, identifying trends, and generating actionable insights.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams on analytics initiatives.
* Perform data extraction, transformation, and visualization, as well as supporting predictive modeling and performance measurement initiatives.
* Engage in continuous learning opportunities about emerging finance technologies and systems, while offering support across finance transformation projects.
* Contribute to business analysis by comprehending financial workflows and participating in project planning.
* Participate in professional development to refine skills in finance and technology.
* Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in information systems, data analytics, or other IT-type degree. Internships are not available for students who have completed their college education or who will graduate prior to the conclusion of the internship.
* Strong interest in financial systems, data analysis, automation, and process improvement.
* Willingness to learn new technologies and work in a team-oriented environment.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Basic to intermediate experience with Excel and SQL.
* Prior relevant internship experience or an interest in the IT field.
* Exposure to Python, Alteryx, AI, Cloud-technologies.
* Passion for learning and keeping pace with the latest advances in data science and machine learning.
