We’re currently hiring a Certified Medication Aide who is passionate about helping others and providing the best possible care.
Country House in Cedar Rapids, IA is hiring a part‑time Certified Medication Aide (PRN/on‑call) for 2–8 hours per month, with all shifts available.
What You’ll Do- Safely administer medications according to the physician’s orders and residents’ care plans.
- Accurately document medication administration and maintain records in our system.
- Observe residents for any changes in condition, side effects, or concerns, and promptly report to nursing staff.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, providing compassion and dignity in every interaction.
- Build meaningful connections with residents, families, and your fellow team members.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive community environment where everyone feels valued.
- Active 40‑hour Medication Aide certification (or equivalent, depending on state requirements).
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine interest in serving older adults.
- Basic computer skills for medication tracking and documentation.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.
Per Iowa law, Medication Aides must complete a department‑approved medication aide or medication manager course and pass the required exam before administering medications to our residents. Additionally, a licensed healthcare professional must assess the Medication Aide before they can begin this responsibility.
