Certified Medical Assistant

• Assist providers by putting patients in rooms, interviewing patients, recording vital signs, and entering information into the electronic medical record.

• Maintain exam rooms by ensuring they are organized, clean, and stocked with required supplies and equipment.

• Perform select clinical tests such as blood glucose, rapid HIV testing, influenza, and strep cultures, and manage and operate equipment safely.

• Correctly label specimens and administer medications according to provider orders, excluding intravenous therapy.

• Provide pre and post-procedural care, participate in the Time Out, and offer intra-procedural support.

• Follow standard precautions for infection control, applying medical and surgical aseptic techniques when indicated.

• Make follow-up calls as requested by the provider and direct calls requiring assessment to a provider.

• Valid CMA license in the state of Iowa.

• 1-3 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.

• The pay range for this position is $41,600.00 - $68,640.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in Cedar Rapids, IA.
