Responsibilities- Evaluate patients' respiratory conditions by conducting physical examinations and reviewing medical histories.
- Administer respiratory therapies including medical gas delivery, nebulization, chest physiotherapy, airway management, and mechanical ventilation (invasive and non-invasive) for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and neonatal patients.
- Perform diagnostic testing such as arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and analysis,pulmonary function testing,andpulse oximetry
- Monitor patient physiological responses to treatments and adjust care or elevate concerns as appropriate.
- Manage artificial airways and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure patient safety and therapy effectiveness.
- Active member of the medical emergency response teams.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in thepatientelectronic medical record (EMR.).
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams regarding patient status and therapy plans.
- Provide assistance with internal patient transports.
- Provide patient and family education on respiratory pathophysiologyandpharmacologic therapies.
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratorytherapyequipment.
- Perform routine cleaning and disinfection of respiratory therapy equipment.
- Serve as a preceptor and mentor for respiratory therapy students and new staff.
- Participate in departmental and multidisciplinary committees focused on quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical outcomes.
Education:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program required.
- Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program required.
- None.
- Must have current licensure in good standing to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in State(s) of Practice required.

- Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
- Mandatory Reporter required within 90 days of hire.

- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred within 180 days of hire.
