Overview

The Human Resources (HR) Support Specialist plays a key role in supporting the HR department and ensuring that the HR functions are efficient and effective to support the organization. This position performs a variety of HR related tasks at a professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following HR core process areas: HR Compliance, HRIS Reports, onboarding support, training, Employee Relations/HR Business Partner support, and other general HR responsibilities.

Responsibilities Data/Administrative Support
  • Assists team members and leaders with questions and triage to appropriate HRBP, ERP or COE.
  • Supports the HR department and other service lines by understanding and navigating the HRIS system, executing Lawson transactions and position creation with minimal errors.
  • Monitors and audits affiliate Lawson data, making appropriate changes to ensure correct data is maintained (e.g., vacant manager, work schedules, FTE, work assignments).
  • Develops knowledge of general HR practices, technology, and metrics using Power BI and other tools within UPH to support ERP/HRBP interactions with leaders.
  • Runs weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and prepares requested reports from Lawson, Power

    BI, SharePoint, and Compensation reporting.
  • Provides oversight, record‑keeping, and administration of compensation‑related programs (retention agreements, discretionary bonus/retention documents, and other special reports).
Compliance/Recordkeeping
  • Assists with policy administration, creation, editing, and communication in collaboration with system and affiliate teams.
  • Assists leaders and team members with relevant interpretation of employment regulations and organizational policies in collaboration with ERP/HRBP.
  • Serves as subject‑matter expert for systems monitoring licensure, certifications, and other regulatory or local requirements (Evercheck, Vax Track).
  • Supports the Labor Law posting process and requirements at all affiliate locations.
  • Provides support for various regulatory agency and accrediting agency compliance requirements.
Human Resources Support
  • Participates in affiliate/system meetings and committees as needed.
  • Assists in providing affiliate‑specific content and may facilitate or support New Employee Orientation.
  • Acts as primary point of contact for front desk coverage, project support, employee file administration, and I9 audit/reconciliation.
  • Manages all phases of the unemployment process, ensuring collaboration/engagement with ERP/HRBP to achieve the best outcome.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure proper data collection for regulatory audit/surveys.
Relationship Management
  • Serves as liaison and steward for UPH when working with local community student/adult groups.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities, is objective and open to others’ views, welcomes feedback, and contributes to positive team goals.
  • Maintains confidentiality and respects all individuals.
  • Provides outstanding customer service to employees, HRBPs, ERPs, and stakeholders within and outside the HR function.
Qualifications Education
  • Associate’s degree required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, business, or a related field preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an HR role/department, with a strong focus on HR processes, procedures, and overall customer service and service delivery.
