PLUS is seeking a confident, hands‑on Floor Manager to lead daily operations, manage people across departments, and ensure productivity, quality, and accountability on every shift. This is a frontline leadership role. The Floor Manager is responsible for actively managing employees on the floor, addressing performance issues in real time, delegating work across departments, enforcing policies and safety procedures, and ensuring all daily processing and customer commitments are met.
The ideal candidate is direct, communicative, and comfortable holding people accountable, while also knowing how to coach, motivate, and deliver constructive feedback. This role owns the shift from start to finish.
Must work onsite in Hiawatha, Iowa
Key Responsibilities- Actively manage employees across all departments during the shift
- Address performance issues, policy violations, and unsafe behavior immediately and professionally
- Provide clear direction, coaching, and constructive feedback
- Delegate daily tasks and priorities to each department based on volume and goals
- Ensure staffing coverage, productivity, and accountability throughout the day
- Own the success of the entire shift from open to close
- Ensure all customer orders are processed, completed, and ready on time
- Monitor processing flow, bottlenecks, and workload balancing between departments
- Escalate and resolve operational issues quickly to avoid delays or errors
- Ensure daily KPIs and processing goals are met or exceeded
- Track throughput, accuracy, and efficiency across departments
- Identify and correct issues impacting quality, speed, or compliance
- Report daily results, exceptions, and improvement opportunities to leadership
- Enforce company policies, SOPs, and safety procedures consistently
- Conduct floor walkthroughs to ensure compliance and organization
- Address safety concerns immediately and document incidents as needed
- Ensure employees are following proper handling and data security procedures
- Serve as the central point of coordination between departments
- Work closely with customer service to resolve returns, escalations, and exceptions
- Support intake, testing, inventory, logistics, and fulfillment as needed
- Step in operationally when required to keep production moving
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Management, or a related field or equivalent relevant leadership and operations experience
- 2–5 years of experience in operations, warehouse management, production supervision, or team leadership
- Proven experience managing people, including giving direct feedback and corrective coaching
- Strong communication skills and comfort addressing issues face‑to‑face
- Experience enforcing SOPs, policies, and safety standards
- Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage competing demands
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills in a fast‑paced environment
- Comfortable using spreadsheets, operational systems, and internal tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet throughout the shift
