Overview
Forklift/Material Handler at Associated Materials Innovations (AMI). This role supports the manufacturing plant team by efficiently handling, moving, and storing materials and products to meet on-time shipping requirements.
What You'll Do- Load and unload materials; perform order picking (case pick) and organize inventory.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure materials counted on dock match packing lists and purchase orders.
- Receive items into the system (AIMS) and communicate discrepancies to dock personnel or purchasing.
- Organize and distribute receipt labels; process transfer orders and packing slips for outbound loads.
- Assist with checking inbound materials and inventory discrepancies; respond to production inquiries about inventory levels and delivery times.
- Support floor operations and cross-training as needed, contributing to overall distribution efficiency.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2–3 years in a manufacturing/production environment.
- Valid driver's license; ability to pass forklift training/certification.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts and verifications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to multiple areas of operations.
- Strong attention to detail; able to work independently or in a team; clear English communication (bi-lingual in Spanish and English is a plus).
- Willingness to cross-train and develop skills; values diversity and teamwork.
The role is in a manufacturing plant setting with machinery noise. PPE is required. The temperature can vary from extreme cold to extreme heat. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs without assistance, and 80–100 lbs with assistance. Frequent use of computers and other office devices may be required.
