As an Associate Veterinarian, you’ll be the trusted medical partner for pets and their people. You’ll:
- Provide high‑quality medical care through wellness visits, diagnostics, surgery, and dental procedures
- Educate pet owners on nutrition, exercise, and long‑term health
- Work with modern equipment and evolving treatment options
- See a varied and engaging caseload that keeps every day interesting
New grads: you’ll receive mentorship, support, and encouragement as you grow your skills and confidence.
What We’re Looking For- A DVM (or soon‑to‑be DVM!) with a passion for veterinary medicine
- A collaborative team player eager to learn and grow
- Strong communication skills and a client‑first mindset
- Availability for full‑time work in Waverly, IA (Monday‑Friday, 7:30 AM-5:30 PM; weekends closed)
- Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries
- Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results
- Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options
- Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed
- Provide counsel around pet end‑of‑life care
- Maintain patients’ medical records
- Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution
- Appropriate state licensure
- Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
