Warehouse Manager Perishable Positions that Report to you:
None
** Primary Duties and Responsibilities
*** Monitors merchandise on hand and ensures freshness is maintained.
* Controls the ripening of fruit and vegetables.
* Inspects quality of all outbound fruits and vegetables.
* Inspects inbound perishable product.
* Prepares reports on soft fruit, bananas, and aged inventory.
* Works with receivers to ensure quality of merchandise.
* Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours.
** Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
*** Performs special inspections when requested by buyers.
* Assists in training of warehouse employees in quality control.
* Adjusts computer inventory of on hand balance when necessary.
* Monitors aged inventory reports.
* Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.
** Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics

* Must be able to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.

** Education and Experience
** High school diploma or equivalent required. 1 – 3 years of similar or related work experience required; previous experience in fresh produce helpful;

* * Physical Requirements
*** Must be physically able to perform heavy work: exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds of force frequently, and 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
* Visual requirements include clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and up to 20 feet, with or without correction and field of vision.
* Must be able to perform the following physical activities: climbing, stooping, pulling, crawling, reaching, standing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
** Working Conditions
** The duties for this position are normally conducted in a warehouse environment. There is constant pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day. There is possible exposure to dirt, noise, temperature extremes, dampness, and equipment movement hazards.

** Telephone, computers, push cart with ladder, thermometer, knife, calculator, and warehouse equipment
