Security Technician

Tri-City Group is currently recruiting for Security Technician positions with immediate openings in the Cedar Rapids area. Security Technicians are responsible for installation, maintenance, and service repairs for large construction, new construction, and remodeling projects.

• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams to install security equipment, including control panels, cameras, sensors, and access control hardware.
• Run and terminate low‑voltage cables and wires through walls, ceilings, and other access points to connect system components.
• Install and mount security equipment, connect cables, and wire low‑voltage circuits.
• Program security systems with keypad/software to set user access codes, configure alarm panels, and integrate various components of a security network.
• Maintenance/Repair: troubleshoot and fix issues with new and existing systems, and diagnose hardware or software malfunctions.

• Completed Electrical Apprenticeship for Low Voltage, or equivalent low voltage, data, fire alarm, Audio Visual, security installation cabling program through a Trade or Community college.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with the installation and programming of Security systems, VMS software.
• Low voltage knowledge and experience pulling and routing wires.
• Certifications:
  
  ESA or NICET preferred, not required.
• The ability to follow directions, climb a 6‑foot ladder, and lift 50 lbs repetitively, and stand the entire shift.
