Industrial Mechanical Technician Skilled – Cedar Rapids, Iowa – Up to $32.00 per hour (salary depends on experience).

Hours:

What Will I Be Doing?
  • Work in a team‑oriented and safety‑conscious environment. “Safety First” expectations include, but are not limited to, PJHA process, Observation process, and compliance with all company / site safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveying systems, piping, heat exchangers, power transmissions, and other power‑driven rotating equipment. Tasks may be completed with or without direct supervision, depending on assignment and employee development.
  • Work without supervision as required.
  • Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards / work procedures and provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.
  • Use hand / power tools, precision alignment, rigging, pipe fitting, welding, blueprint reading, mathematics; practice preventive / predictive maintenance.
  • Perform any and all other duties assigned by the responsible supervisor.
  • Use hand tools daily such as power tools (hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, drill press, hydraulic pullers) and rigging equipment; perform welding, using a cutting torch as required.
  • Operate and have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, basket trucks, and skid loaders.
  • Work from elevated areas—ladders, platforms, scaffolding, etc.—using fall protection equipment as necessary.
  • Work all shifts including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.
  • Ensure compliance with all company / customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Achieve performance expectations set through performance appraisals to include employee development planning.
  • Communicate with all team members to assist development of short‑ and long‑range planning in support of the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Maintain personal tools required for your job, including an up‑to‑date documented personal tool list. Required tool listing supplied as part of employment.
  • Meet physical requirements of the job.
  • Perform assigned tasks safely, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Accurate and timely administrative duties—including time accounting and work order completion.
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.
What Makes Me Qualified?
  • Experience:

    5+ years’ experience in industrial maintenance and/or 4+ years education in industrial maintenance technologies / engineering preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to observe details at close range.
  • Control precision—quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or vehicle to exact positions.
  • Manual dexterity—quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) required.
  • Ability to move for extended or continuous periods.
  • Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
  • Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles safely.
