Position is operating out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Muth Electric is looking for an Electrical Foreman for a Data Center project. Work involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical/electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. The National Electrical Code and all other applicable standards and specifications are followed.
Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To The Following
- Promotes and Enforces a Strong Safety Culture works safely and ensures all crew members follow company safety policies, training requirements, and jobsite rules.
- Demonstrates and Drives High Productivity Standards leads by example, manages task assignments efficiently, and motivates crews to achieve daily goals.
- Fully Competent in Plan Reading and Layout interprets construction documents, drawings, and specifications, and performs accurate layout for installation.
- Continuously Communicates Upward brings forward ideas, concerns, opportunities, and improvement suggestions to General Foremen or project leadership.
- Capable of Leading Journeymen and Apprentices assigns work according to skill levels, trains others, and monitors workmanship and progress in the field.
- Broad Installation Experience demonstrates a strong working knowledge in installation of power, lighting, controls, fire alarm, instrumentation, and related systems.
- Upholds a High Standard of Quality ensures that installations meet or exceed company standards, industry requirements, and project specifications.
- Follows Company Policies and Standard Procedures applies consistent work practices, documentation habits, tool use standards, material control processes, and administrative requirements.
- Monitors Crew Morale and Performance maintains awareness of team dynamics and communicates performance, behavior concerns, and staffing needs to leadership.
Physical Requirements
- Able to physically lift up to and in excess of 75 pounds, unassisted, frequently throughout the day (physical work is more than 70% of the job).
- Ability to safely climb up and down ladders.
- Ability to work alone once instructions have been given.
- Able to complete a full day’s assignments involving one or more of the following: bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching over head, and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment and any other safety-related equipment.
- Able to wear personal tool belt at all times on the jobsite.
- Able to work from various heights via ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and other safe work platforms and areas.
- Able to work in and around restricted/confined spaces such as manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics, clean rooms, and raised metal floors.
- Able to work in extreme weather conditions and elements, indoor or outdoor, including heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, and snow depending on job location.
- Specific vision abilities required.
- Able to work a 40 hour work week, with overtime and off-hour shifts as required.
