Description

The Facilities Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting our purpose of creating lasting value for those we serve by ensuring our buildings, equipment, and grounds are properly maintained in order to achieve the goals of our company. This role is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure that buildings, equipment, and systems operate efficiently and safely. This individual will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues across multiple disciplines.

This includes prioritizing, documenting, and supervising building service personnel to actively manage buildings and grounds maintenance and projects. In addition, this individual partners with leaders in building planning and formulation of operating procedures for use in the event of accidents, fires, or other emergencies. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance inspections to determine repairs, replacement, or improvements needed
  • Manages general building and grounds repairs & maintenance by determining when to use a vendor or when to fix the repair themselves
  • Diagnose and repair (as certified) mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
  • Supports operational automated (smart) equipment i.e. Conveyor Systems, Wire Machines, Speed Pull Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies
  • Collaborates and negotiates with vendors to submits bids for services
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Assist with facility upgrades, renovations, and special projects
  • Operate tools and equipment safely and effectively
  • Collaborate with contractors and vendors as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas
  • Works with the Safety Manager to aid in the safety and security of building operations and assist IT with end of wire security installation
  • Provides company communication on facilities and/or facility safety related information

Job Requirements /Specifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in general maintenance or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.)
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Demonstrated computer skills, specifically strong Microsoft Suite skills
  • Ability to lift 100 lbs. on a frequent basis
  • Demonstrated experience in OSHA, safety compliance, and safety best practices preferred
  • Ability to operate lift truck equipment - preferred

  • Sometimes sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, bending at the waist, twisting upper body, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, works alone, shift work, cold, heat, temperature changes, wet, humid, noise, vibration, high places, work outdoors, electrical hazards, odors, and dusts
  • Occasionally climbing, driving, customer contact, extended day, confined area, explosive materials, fumes, mists, gases, and poor ventilation
