Data Center Field Service Technician – Diesel Mechanic Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to maintain and repair diesel-powered equipment supporting data center and industrial operations. This role involves independent fieldwork at customer sites, ensuring equipment reliability through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs while delivering professional, customer-focused service.
Responsibilities- Perform preventative maintenance and diagnostic inspections on diesel engines and equipment
- Service and repair generators, compressors, forklifts, trucks, and heavy machinery
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and exhaust systems
- Replace components such as hoses, belts, filters, and batteries
- Accurately complete digital service logs, repair reports, and work orders
- Maintain safety compliance and a clean work area
- Communicate professionally with customers and jobsite personnel
- Participate in on-call rotations as required
- 3+ years of field service or diesel/heavy equipment experience
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to read schematics, manuals, and diagnostic data
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors
- Comfortable working independently and managing time efficiently
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, with rotating Saturdays
- Two-person field crews
- PPE required: hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots
This is a Permanent position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr.
