Job Description
As a Field Service Technician, you will be the frontline expert responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel-powered equipment and vehicles at customer job sites. You will work independently, traveling to various locations to ensure our fleet operates at peak performance. This role combines hands‑on technical skill with customer‑facing service, making you a vital part of our operations and community impact.
Responsibilities- Perform preventative maintenance and diagnostic inspections on diesel engines and related equipment.
- Service heavy‑duty diesel equipment, including generators, compressors, forklifts, and trucks.
- Troubleshoot and repair fuel systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and exhaust systems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and cranes.
- Replace worn or damaged components such as hoses, belts, filters, and batteries.
- Maintain accurate service logs, repair reports, and work orders using digital tools.
- Educate customers on proper equipment usage to prevent breakdowns.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Build strong relationships with jobsite foremen and clients through professional service.
- Be available for on‑call support during peak operational periods.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Service Technician in heavy equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
- Operate service vehicles and maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor jobsite conditions.
- Diagnostic testing and troubleshooting skills.

- Solid computer skills for logging service reports and accessing technical data.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62,400.00 - $83,200.00 per year. 401k, health, dental, vision, PTO.
Workplace TypeThis is a fully onsite position in Cedar Rapids, IA.
