The Warehouse Manager directs and coordinates supervision of every aspect of Warehouse Operations; is responsible for purchasing/leasing materials and equipment used by employees in their daily activities, improving the accuracy and efficiency of service to Imperial customers, and maintaining all facilities associated with the Distribution Center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAdditional duties, which are necessary to carry out the functions of a Warehouse Manager, may be assigned and are incorporated by reference into this job description.
- Responsible for the direct and indirect supervision of employees including, but not limited to, interviewing, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, disciplining, addressing complaints and resolving issues.
- Oversee all warehouse employees and daily operations.
- Maintain warehouse staffing, payroll, production rates, training and retention.
- Manage all maintenance, company vehicles, building and equipment.
- Manage and control all product and supply inventory.
- Enforce all company policies, rules and regulations.
- Manage all inventory, error reporting while following up on all processes with supervisors and ensuring timely responses.
- Ensure all processes are adhered to, followed and/or create such processes that increase overall accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform above listed duties in a cooperative, capable manner, processing information effectively and communicating it to subordinates as needed.
Conduct the interviewing process for potential employees; participate in the hiring and firing process; discipline and commend employees accordingly; handle employee complaints; evaluate employee job performance; direct the employee performance planning process and set job expectations to establish obtainable goals; directly supervise approximately 10 exempt employees; assess and evaluate the overall performance of warehouse operations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSLight physical activity with occasional strenuous activities of an administrative, productive and/or technical nature. Must regularly stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle or feel, reach with hands or arms, talk or hear, lift up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include color vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENTRegular work near moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions, occasionally wet humid conditions, risk of electrical shock, and generally loud noise level.
