Job Summary
About the Role & Team Our team sources both goods and services and coordinates their delivery for the Disney Cruise Line (DCL) ships and private islands. The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for coordinating requirements from our DCL Hotel and/or our Marine Technical Operations (MTO) client and fulfilling those requirements from the market within the required timeline, using the most efficient means through effective quoting, bidding, contracting, and negotiation.
This position works closely with stakeholder groups across the US, UK, and Asia teams as a strategic partner who listens to learn business needs; it provides expertise in planning and implementing sourcing initiatives within company compliance and guidelines, while meeting project timelines and deliverables to ensure business goals and objectives are met. The sourcing specialist drives strategic sourcing efforts across various spend categories within the technical supply chain, including but not limited to ship systems, safety, hotel, furnishings, navigation, environmental, repair & maintenance, delivering value, savings, efficiencies, and risk mitigation.
The specialist works with marine and technical and/or hotel space partner departments to coordinate the most expedited and cost‑efficient shipping modes and ensures all shipping documentation aligns with trade and compliance guidelines. This position is responsible for ensuring integration of the sourcing policy across categories and managing strategic sourcing initiatives that include rigorous market analysis, supplier risk analysis, baseline spend analysis, RFP execution, contract confirmation, negotiations with suppliers, contract execution, and monitoring of source recommendations.

What You Will Do- Focus on client management, goods buying and procurement, category management, and technical solution finding in support of Disney Cruise Line New Build and Operations.
- Accountable for business unit sourcing initiatives that consider supply chain processes and infrastructure improvements to drive reductions in total cost of ownership (TCO) without compromising policy, business strategy and performance.
- Participate in cross‑functional teams responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing arrangements with key suppliers.
- Source and negotiate supply relationships on behalf of our DCL's internal clients, negotiating cost, lead time, terms, scope of work, payment milestones, warranty, etc. for goods and services as applicable.
- Provide quote management, project sourcing, and order execution for multiple Disney vessels or islands.
- Coordinate and confirm requirements for goods or services with on‑board partners and/or shoreside management, supporting requirements for compliance with regulatory agencies (i.e., SOLAS, MARPOL, USCG, Lloyds Registry, etc.).
- Leverage global supply base to ensure acquisition of requirements at the best landed cost.
- Resolve issues such as extended or missed timelines, order errors, and returns timely with ownership in seeing through to completion.
- Provide timely and professional communication to partners.
- Identify supplier performance metrics, process improvement, and value opportunities.
- Use strong analytical skills to solve complex problems utilizing a data‑driven approach.
- Apply category management best practices, tools and techniques in the development and implementation of an integrated sourcing strategy and assess the overall opportunity of the spend categories for projects to engage stakeholders with critical business information.
- Manage contracts and key supplier relationships. Will manage key supplier relationships for the assigned category, understanding global, regional, and local contracts and managing key contracts.
- Execute on business efforts to protect the brand through best risk management practices and all efforts to achieve corporate citizenship goals in environmental responsibility and supplier diversity.
