Shipyard Sports & Events Center is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual for our Front Desk Member Services Associate position. Ideally, this individual will be able to help with coverage on evenings and weekends. The Front Desk Member Services Associate will greet and assist all members, guests, and program participants. The Associate will interact with the members and uphold the member experience standards.

The Associate will be the daily point of contact for members, determining their needs and offering solutions to meet these needs. The Associate will be responsible for providing a high level of customer service to Shipyard members, program participants, and guests.

Responsibilities
  • Assist customers with program registrations, sales, answering questions, etc.
  • Receive payments, team registrations, and booking field rentals.
  • Scheduling appointments with clients to start new membership or follow up on past memberships.
  • Monitoring the front desk and answering incoming calls, greeting customers as they enter the gym, and answering questions about the facility’s services.
  • Processing membership applications and fees, collecting insurance information, and issuing memberships.
  • Taking care of basic customer service tasks such as answering phones, greeting clients by name, and checking in members.
  • Updating member records with new contact information and payment details.
  • Maintaining membership records and processing fees as directed by management.
  • Collecting payment from members/guests for gym services rendered.
  • Explaining facility policies and procedures to new members and helping them get acquainted with the facility.
  • Setup and teardown of gym equipment.
  • Provide courteous and friendly guest service to all Shipyard guests.
  • Be knowledgeable of all Shipyard prices, leagues, events, and membership guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality with guest and employee information.
  • Resolve all guest concerns and complaints and/or direct to appropriate Manager.
Requirements
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and credibility quickly.
  • Consistently display a courteous and cooperative attitude, while meeting the needs of others in a responsible and mature manner.
  • General knowledge of sports preferred.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with relating to all age groups: youth, teens, adults.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Must have strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) and Gmail.
  • The ability to work well and effectively communicate with a diverse population in a wide variety of situations is required.
