At Versa Pak, we manufacture custom plastic packaging for food and other consumer industries. Our company started in March 1986 as a small manufacturer, and continued growth led us to build our new manufacturing facility and warehouse at 500 Staeger Road, Celina, Ohio.

As we are known for our in-house promotions and advancement, a line operator is an entry-level position with the opportunity of a great career. We are also currently looking for high-output candidates offering higher pay. We have both full- and part-time positions available. Versa Pak has a 12-hour rotating schedule that allows for days off during the week!

The Part-Time HR Assistant provides an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field to gain hands-on experience in a professional HR environment. This role offers exposure to key Human Resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training and development, HR compliance, and HR administration.

Working alongside experienced HR professionals, the intern will develop practical skills, build knowledge of HR best practices, and gain valuable insight into the employee lifecycle. The internship is designed to bridge classroom learning with real-world application, providing meaningful experience that prepares students for a successful career in Human Resources.

This position is ideal for individuals who are eager to learn, highly organized, detail-oriented, and interested in developing a strong foundation in HR processes and employee support. The HR Assistant will have the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects, collaborate across departments, and gain exposure to a variety of HR initiatives while supporting the organization’s people-focused objectives.

The HR Assistant will support the Human Resources team in recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, HR administration, and special projects. This role provides hands-on experience across multiple HR disciplines while developing knowledge of employment practices, employee relations, and organizational operations.

General Responsibilities:

• Assist with recruiting activities, including posting job openings, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews.
• Conduct initial candidate phone screenings and provide interview feedback to hiring managers.
• Help with social media and other recruitment activities
• Support the onboarding process by preparing new hire paperwork, orientation materials, and employee files.
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR databases are updated and organized.
• Assist with benefits administration, employee communications, and routine HR inquiries.
• Help coordinate employee engagement programs, recognition events, and company activities.
• Track training participation and assist with organizing learning and development initiatives.
• Support payroll preparation by verifying employee information and timekeeping records.
