Job Summary: Works with clients, architects/engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers under the direction of the Preconstruction Manager and Senior Estimator to plan cost factors for building projects. Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Project Acquisition: Attends pre‑proposal meetings and site visits to assist in the preparation of requests for proposal.
• Preconstruction Development: Consults with clients, architects, subcontractors, and material suppliers to discuss and formulate estimates, effect cost reductions and resolve issues; manages document control; creates meeting minutes; works on multiple projects concurrently.
• Preconstruction Coordination: Prepares estimates at all design stages; performs quantity take‑offs; researches and analyzes construction documents; reviews design for accurate pricing; collaborates with BIM team; creates final estimates; understands bond and insurance calculations.
• Subcontracting and Buy‑Out: Solicits subcontractors, ensures bid coverage, records good‑faith efforts for small‑business requirements, evaluates bids for compliance, facilitates buy‑out process, and provides bidder feedback.
• Department Advancement: Uses historical cost database resources; mentors and trains Construction Management Associates.
• Industry Relationships: Maintains relationships with subcontractors, owners, and design teams.

• Procore, Join.
  
  Build, On‑Screen Takeoff, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, Navisworks, Revit, Sketch Up, Destini Estimator, Bluebeam, Pantera.

Requirements:

• B.S. in Civil/Architectural Engineering, Construction or equivalent; 3+ years related experience.
• Strong reading, analysis, and interpretation of technical procedures and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present technical information.
• Proficiency with mathematical concepts, geometry, trigonometry, and problem‑solving.
• Experience reading and analyzing construction documents for commercial projects; basic computer skills including spreadsheet and estimating system knowledge.

The salary range for this position is $90,000–$120,000 per year (base salary). Salary determined by education, experience, skills, and location. Haselden does not discriminate based on any protected category with respect to payment of wages.
