Field Service Engineer - Medium Voltage

Pay Range$80,000 – $105,000 per year.
Position SummaryThe Field Service Engineer is responsible for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, servicing, repairing, and maintaining various types of power distribution equipment, including medium voltage components and Variable Frequency Drives. The role requires providing excellent customer service, responding to emergency on‑call duties, and ensuring a safe work environment in accordance with company and customer safety policies.
Responsibilities- Inspect, test and troubleshoot low, medium, and high voltage electrical system equipment.
- Perform electrical tests on switch gear, transformers, and Variable Frequency Drives.
- Provide industry‑best customer service and exceed customer expectations.
- Respond to customer emergencies promptly and handle on‑call duties.
- Adhere to all safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
- Contribute positively to a collaborative team environment.
- Maintain a current valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- High school diploma or GED; or two‑year vocational/post‑high school program in electrical trades or industrial electricity, associate degree in technology, or equivalent military experience.
- NETA certification preferred.
- Five years of experience on commercial and industrial electrical projects.
- Five years of hands‑on experience using industrial electrical test equipment.
- Experience performing medium voltage splicing and terminations.
- Experience installing switch gear and transformers.
- Ability to read one‑line and control diagrams.
- Computer skills including email, internet, data entry, and Microsoft Office.
- OSHA 10, OSHA 30, NFPA 70‑E training.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without a need for employer sponsored VISA.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus.
- Must be able to sit at a computer keyboard for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving up to 75 pounds.
- Requires extensive travel by automobile within territory; occasional air travel possible.
- Must have good hand‑eye coordination.
- Maintain regular and on‑time attendance; hours may exceed 40 per week; weekends, holidays, and on‑call availability required.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crawl, or crouch in close quarters.
- Exposure to extreme weather, warehouse environments, or production/manufacturing locations.
