AboutThe Role
We’re a mission‑driven team uncovering the future of satellite systems. As a Systems Engineer you will research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify, and improve cutting‑edge products and services. You’ll develop complex system architectures and guide them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and testing.
- Lead the engineering team in the design and development of satellite systems.
- Work closely with the mission chief engineer and subsystem leads to architect a space vehicle to meet mission requirements.
- Lead the engineering team to conduct spacecraft performance modeling and simulation.
- Support the development of spacecraft CONOPs.
- Establish and track key Technical Performance Measures (TPMs).
- Collaborate with the Space Vehicle Program manager to manage team performance, including cost, schedule, and risk.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering team members.
- Interface with customers and stakeholders to communicate design status and technical details.
- Foster a collaborative team environment.
- Maintain knowledge of current and developing technologies and develop strategies for their insertion into legacy and next‑generation spacecraft.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s of Science degree in Systems Engineering or related discipline; typically 14+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven track record of leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Progressive experience working in multidisciplinary design and development teams.
- Strong knowledge of satellite design including EO and/or RF payloads, avionics, mechanical, thermal and software.
- Advanced understanding of requirements management, functional requirement parsing, derivation, allocation, systems design, integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and V&V principles.
- An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance is required.
- Background in Aerospace or Defense industry.

Actual base compensation will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on job‑related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity, and market competitiveness.
IMPORTANT NOTICEThis position requires an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non‑U.S. Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF) handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants.
