About the Role
The Chief Engineer will provide technical leadership and guidance to major programs, ensuring successful technical execution and maintaining the technical baseline for these programs. Responsibilities include chairing Engineering Review Boards, overseeing design, development, and testing of systems and components, adjudicating gaps, acting as the final authority on technical decisions, partnering with IPT Leads for milestone meetings, and driving innovation in engineering practices.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience (or master's +14 years experience).
- Typically 16+ years of related experience.
- Multidisciplinary engineering expertise and subject matter expertise for a single significant program.
- Demonstrated experience leading significant projects and driving engineering decisions.
- Use of first principles to plan and execute required analysis across a program life cycle.
- Acted as a technical advisor with expert guidance on complex projects.
- Upholds and models company values; ability to hold others accountable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Ability to build strategy and implement it across programs.
- Required to obtain and maintain a Top‑Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
- Master's or Ph.D. in engineering, aerospace, or related discipline.
- Advanced knowledge of RPO & GNC, navigation, satellite flight programs, computer vision, and RPO test techniques.
- Extensive aerospace industry experience and a record of successful project execution.
- Ability to drive innovation, stay current with emerging technologies, and execute cutting‑edge solutions.
- Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills.
- Program management experience with planning, execution, and oversight of large projects.
- Strategic planning skills and ability to deliver long‑term technical roadmaps.
- Experience with executive‑level management and communicating complex technical information.
- Relationship management with external stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and regulators.
- Collaborative work across functions and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Technical publications or patents demonstrating thought leadership.
- Professional certifications such as PE, PMP, or relevant technical credentials.
Compensation
Pay Range: $ – $, determined on a case‑by‑case basis.
