AVP/Manager, Accounting & Finance – Axos Bank

We are seeking an experienced accounting leader to oversee financial reporting for Axos Bank and its subsidiaries, including the new banking segment. The role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely financial information and supporting the bank’s growth through process automation and operational excellence.

$80,000.00 – $ per year, depending on experience and location.

• Eligible for an annual discretionary cash bonus target of 10%.
• Eligible for an annual discretionary restricted stock units bonus target of 10%.

The AVP/Manager will report to the FVP, Bank Segment Controller and will be responsible for maintaining and improving the reporting structure for Axos Bank, its subsidiaries, and the new banking segment. The position seeks an independent leader adept at driving change, automating processes, and improving operational efficiency.

• Execute and monitor accounting operations, including production of complete and accurate financial reports.
• Maintain an adequate system of accounting records and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Assist senior management in updating documented accounting policies, procedures, and process documents.
• Support timely completion of call reports, Y9C, and other regulatory inquiries from OCC, Fed, FRB, etc.
• Assist in executing the month‑end close process as directed.
• Review and release specified manual journal entries.
• Approve analytical reviews and account reconciliations.
• Prepare or review consolidated statement of cash flows.
• Implement new accounting systems and integrate current systems to reduce manual processes and automate controls.
• Leverage Smart View to improve operating efficiencies.
• Assist with special projects as directed.
• Prepare support for independent public accounting auditors and internal auditors.
• Review and approve regulator information requests and assist in responses.
• Provide guidance to junior-level staff.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience in public accounting and/or public company environments preferred.
• Technical and operational accounting expertise.
• Financial statement close process experience.
• Analytical review process experience.
• GL account reconciliation process experience.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Process improvement focus.
• Documentation improvement experience.
• Banking or financial services experience is a plus.
