Certified Medical Assistant - Denver, CO

Compensation: $19 - $24 hourly

Overview:
Nexus HR is seeking a detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant for a respected immunology clinic in Colorado. This role supports both clinical and administrative functions, including patient preparation, routine procedures, accurate EHR documentation, and effective communication within the care team to ensure high-quality patient care.

About the Job

As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting daily clinic operations and enhancing the patient experience. Responsibilities include rooming patients, performing clinical procedures, assisting with provider orders, maintaining accurate records in the EHR, and ensuring timely communication with patients. This role requires adaptability, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced immunology clinic setting.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for provider visits by reviewing their vital signs, medical history, medications, and allergies.
  • Accurately document and update information in the EHR.
  • Enter provider-directed orders (labs, imaging, referrals, prescriptions).
  • Perform in-office testing (PFTs, skin testing, POCT); ensure accurate documentation and charges.
  • Manage patient check-out and schedule follow-up appointments.
  • Assist with prior authorizations, refills, and administrative tasks (scanning, faxing, provider coordination).
  • Communicate with patients via phone/portal regarding results, instructions, and care updates.
  • Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections per protocol.
  • Collaborate with providers, MAs, and front desk staff to support patient flow.
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock exam rooms; complete opening/closing duties.
  • Explain medical conditions, therapies, supplements, and testing as directed by the provider.
  • Address post-visit patient questions on care plans and procedures.
  • Support procedures, location-specific tasks, and other departments as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and clinic meetings.
Qualifications
  • Proficient in vitals, immunizations, PFTs, skin testing; phlebotomy preferred.
  • Strong EMR proficiency and medical documentation accuracy.
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Adaptable, team-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Professional verbal/written communication and customer service skills.
  • Reliable attendance and commitment to continuous learning.
