Mammography Technologist – Centennial, CO – HCA Health

Hourly Wage Estimate: $33.27 - $51.00 / hour.

Part‑time:
Monday, Wednesday, and every other Friday.

Mammography Technologists operate a mammography unit to produce diagnostic images of the breasts under physician direction. They explain procedures, position and immobilize the patient’s breast, and observe the scanning process. They perform procedures for patients from neonates to geriatric ages, maintain high technical and patient‑care skills, monitor patient condition, report changes and emergencies, determine whether the procedure was sufficient, and provide images, data analysis and patient information to the physician.

• Operate a mammography unit to obtain diagnostic images under physician direction.
• Explain the procedure to patients and position/immobilize the patient’s breast for imaging.
• Observe the scanning process and ensure image quality.
• Perform procedures following established protocols for patients of all ages.
• Maintain technical and patient‑care skills to provide quality diagnostic results.
• Monitor the patient’s physical condition during the procedure, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Report patient changes, emergencies or complications to clinical staff, supervisor and/or radiologist.
• Determine if additional imaging is required; consult radiologist when necessary.
• Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for interpretation.

• Graduate from an accredited school of medical radiography.
• ARRT (R) and ARRT Mammography registry required; BLS required.
• Clinical rotation or one year of experience.
• Critical thinking skills & patient‑care skills.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• ARRT‑M (Mammography) and ARRT‑R (Radiography) signatures acceptable.
