RN - ICU Float Pool

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)

• Must serve in charge nurse capacity

• 6-9 weekend shifts required in a 6-week schedule

• May be placed in holiday rotation

• Float between multiple ICU units including MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU

• Float within 60-mile radius zone to sister facilities including Ortho Colorado Hospital, Longmont United Hospital, St. Anthony Hospital (Lakewood), and St. Anthony North Hospital

• May float to other acuity levels including PCU/Stepdown and MS-Tele

• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1-2 dependent on acuity, may flex up to 1:3

• 1:1 ratios for high acuity patients requiring CRRT, IABP, Impella

• Must have 2 years of ICU experience and prior charge nurse experience required

• First-time travelers need 3+ years of ICU experience and Epic experience

• Must be comfortable titrating all critical drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, and insulin

• Respond to codes and rapid responses throughout hospital

• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently

• Assist with troubleshooting and managing respiratory needs

• Work with ventilators, CPAP, BiPap, high flow oxygen, and breathing treatments

• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS, TNCC

• Epic charting system experience required

• Any color scrubs allowed

• 1-2 days orientation with preceptor

• Rare call/standby requirements for low census

• Schedule made by leadership for 6 weeks at a time with flexibility required

• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
