IT Operations Manager

Target Range: $ /Yr. – $ /Yr.
Starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.

Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 10%
Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 10%
These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi-annually based upon your achievement of performance goals and targets.

Location: Onsite – no remote or hybrid work available.

About This Job

Axos Bank seeks a hands‑on technical IT Operations Manager to join our team. Reporting to the SVP Head of Infrastructure, the role leads and supports company‑wide production operation initiatives, focusing on critical production and support operations and anticipating future IT industry direction.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee 24x7 production support teams for Axos Bank and affiliates, user technical support, and production job schedules.
  • Assist in policy development and technology planning.
  • Evaluate user needs and system functionality to ensure systems meet organizational requirements.
  • Develop and sustain strong working relationships with IS customers; accountable for quality of services delivered.
  • Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, objectives, short‑and long‑range planning; lead projects to achieve established goals.
  • Develop efficient processes and methodologies, including monitoring and reporting.
  • Create tactical IS plans and execute them; develop system and organizational roadmaps to ensure business and service continuity.
  • Ensure smooth operations of all IT systems and data security.
  • Understand and track applicable regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and enterprise security requirements.
  • Assist in preparing disaster recovery and business continuity plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with senior management to enhance monitoring of critical applications and develop operational run books.
  • Identify issues, trends, and opportunities to improve efficiency, cost effectiveness, and quality; recommend and implement solutions.
  • Establish a stable performance environment by monitoring and analyzing problems.
  • Ensure problems are identified and resolved rapidly and efficiently.
  • Provide and manage utilization and capacity monitoring of all networks, data storage, servers, and phones for management reporting and planning.
  • Provide estimates, forecasting, and work‑planning assistance.
  • Establish SLAs and KPIs aligned to business objectives.
  • Oversee procurement of software and hardware; manage IS assets and inventory.
  • Provide configuration management and assess the impact of modifications and vulnerabilities.
  • Manage annual fiscal planning and budgets for the infrastructure group.
  • Perform supervisory functions: interview, select, train new staff; assess recommendations; determine disciplinary actions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology or related field.
  • 7+ years’ experience in an IT Operations production support role in an enterprise environment.
  • 2+ years’ leadership experience.
  • Hands‑on technical management experience, designing, developing, and implementing technical solutions with proven ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Familiarity with enterprise project planning and resourcing.
  • Internal and external customer‑facing production support experience.
  • Experience with monitoring solutions such as Solar Winds, Dynatrace, and Defense Storm.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure technologies:
    Windows, VMware, Active Directory.
  • Ability to support 24x7 operations.
  • Detail‑oriented with superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving aptitude.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Proactive mindset.
Preferred
  • ITSM or Service Now experience.
  • Certifications:

    MCSE, VMware, Storage, PMP, CCNP, ITIL v3.
