Summary
In this role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise-grade analytics solutions with a focus on Power BI, advanced data modeling, and end-to-end performance engineering. You will create scalable semantic models, strengthen data governance practices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive analytics that support strategic decision-making across clients. You will also contribute to modernization initiatives and guide best practices that elevate the analytics engineering discipline.
Responsibilities- Design and deliver Power BI solutions using Import, Direct Query, and Hybrid/Direct Lake modes.
- Develop robust semantic models, measures, and reusable components that scale across products.
- Model data using dimensional structures and implement aggregation strategies to enhance performance.
- Optimize performance by tuning Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), Verti Paq engine operations, data types, partitioning, and incremental refresh.
- Configure and maintain Row-Level Security/Object-Level Security (RLS/OLS) and data masking aligned with governance standards.
- Partner with Security and Compliance teams to support Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Protected Health Information (PHI) requirements.
- Establish and maintain version control practices, quality checks, and code review standards.
- Translate business and technical requirements into accessible, user-centered analytics experiences.
- Implement telemetry and observability practices to monitor usage, refresh cycles, and performance metrics.
- Support modernization efforts by contributing templates, themes, calculation groups, and migration from legacy BI platforms.
- Relevant degree preferred.
- 7 or more years of relevant experience required.
- Expertise designing Power BI solutions, including semantic models, DAX, and performance tuning required.
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills, including indexing, statistics, and partitioning are required.
- Experience with RLS/OLS, lineage, auditability, and data governance practices required.
- Ability to translate business logic into validated metrics and partner effectively with cross-functional teams required.
- Proficiency with Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, and related tabular modeling tools highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Micro Strategy and BI modernization approaches preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, or Databricks preferred.
- Willingness to travel.

Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. This position is also incentive eligible.
