We’re seeking a dynamic leader to take charge of day-to‑day operations across our Industrial Construction Division. As Director of Operations, you’ll guide a team of Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Superintendents to deliver excellence across every project. You’ll own the profit and loss performance of your portfolio and drive operational success from the ground up. This role demands proven experience in industrial construction and a passion for leading high‑impact teams in complex environments.
Location & Travel Details: The location of this position is flexible. The position will have up to 60% travel to regional office locations, project sites, client or vendor facilities.

ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
General:
- Develop project execution plan and direct overall activities to assist in achieving total project objectives. Responsible for budgeting, planning, staffing, safety, quality, and procurement.
- Direct (through subordinate managers) project activities to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel.
- Oversee a single large ($150+MM) or multiple small ($25MM - $100MM) projects.
Business Development:
- Support our strong Business Development team in the selection and pursuit of perspective opportunities.
- Build long term relationships with owner, OEM, and engineering firm representatives.
- Understand the client’s needs prior to contract execution. Provide advice, liaison, planning, etc. to prospective and current clients.
- Serve as a company role model and represent the company (as an attendee or a presenter) at trade shows, public relations events, community activities and other client‑related events.
Financial:
- Reviews and analyzes expenditure, financial, and operations reports to determine requirements for increasing profits, for respective projects. May coordinate activity with appropriate project operational personnel to ensure total project(s) budgets are met.
- Manage all financial aspects of contracts by performing cost analysis activities on a routine basis to protect Company’s interest while simultaneously maintaining a good relationship with Client.
- Approves requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies within limits of authority. Negotiate contracts with equipment and materials suppliers.
- In depth understanding of financial/accounting principles.
Commercial:
- Significant experience reviewing and understanding industry standard commercial contracts and negotiating experience are required.
- In depth understanding of Change Order Management with a focus around cost, schedule, and scope management and cost recovery.
Stakeholder Management:
- Interact regularly with senior Company management and client representatives.
- Attend periodic internal project progress, division/business unit, and corporate meetings. Represent Company in external project meetings.
Human Resources:
- Enforces compliance of project personnel with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations.
