Experience & Certifications

Required Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• Prior Charge Nurse experience required

Traveler Requirements:

• Prior travel experience preferred
• First-time travelers must have 3+ years ICU experience and EPIC experience

Required Certifications:

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• NIHSS
• TNCC

Unit Overview – Charge ICU Float

• Patient Population: Mixed ICU acuity (MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU)
• Charge Role:
  • Acts as Charge Nurse
  • May respond to Codes and Rapid Responses hospital-wide

Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:

• 1:1–2 depending on acuity
• May flex to 1:3
• 1:1 for high-acuity cases (CRRT, IABP, Impella, etc.)

Required Skills & Competencies

• Comfortable titrating all critical drips
• Management of:
  • Vasopressors
  • Sedation and paralytics
  • Antiarrhythmics
  • Heparin
  • Insulin
  • Other ICU-level infusions
