Swim Instructor – Part-Time
Part-Time Swim Instructor for all pools, hiring for all age groups. Application process is ongoing with no specific closing date; applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
CompensationNon-Certified Swim Instructor: $17.05–$21.70 per hour.
WSI Certified Swim Instructor: $17.55–$21.70 per hour.

* Training for qualified candidates—no experience necessary; basic knowledge of swim strokes is a plus. - We reimburse course fees for WSI Certification obtained through SSPRD (excluding the $40 certification fee) after completing 3 full sessions of instruction. Non‑Certified instructors receive free initial training.
- Must be able to instruct two evening classes per week and/or Saturday mornings. Additional hours are available once qualified and approved to teach private lessons at a starting rate of $17.00 per hour for Non‑Certified instructors and $19.85 per hour for WSI Certified instructors.
The Swim Instructor teaches lessons that motivate, educate, and encourage students of all ages and abilities while developing swimming skills. The instructor maintains knowledge of all swimming strokes, American Red Cross Learn‑To‑Swim levels, and pool safety protocols. Shifts range from morning to evening hours and weekends.
Ideal Candidate- Previous experience teaching swim lessons.
- American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification.
- Knowledge of all swimming strokes and American Red Cross Learn‑To‑Swim levels.
- Ability to perform a safety swim to a full‑grown adult and remain calm in emergencies.
- Effective communication skills with the public and team members.
- Capacity to work independently and enforce pool standards and rules.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
- Must be 15 years of age or older.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.

Our mission is to foster healthy living through stewardship of the environment, parks, trails, and open space by providing recreational services and programs. We serve residents in Bow Mar, Columbine Valley, Centennial west of I‑25, Littleton, Lone Tree, and Sheridan, and unincorporated portions of Douglas, Jefferson, and Arapahoe counties. We operate four full-service recreation centers, golf courses, outdoor pools, and restaurants, two ice rinks, miniature golf courses, a botanical garden event center, a BMX track, a sports dome, batting cages, an entertainment center, a hotel, and a nature center.
The district maintains nearly 3,800 acres of developed and open space land, including 119 multi‑purpose athletic fields, over 100 parks, nearly 80 miles of trails, 60 playgrounds, 56 tennis courts, and the 880‑acre South Platte Park.
