Furniture Unlimited is seeking a dependable, communicative driver to support furniture pickups, deliveries, removals and hauling. This is an on call role for someone who can work independently in the field while staying in close communication with the coordinator. Every day in the roll of a driver is different, this job can provide flexibility. Professionalism, reliability and good judgment are essential qualities of the best driver candidate.

• Complete scheduled furniture pickups, deliveries, removals and hauling assignments.
• Safely load, secure, transport and unload furniture while protecting the furniture, vehicle and customer property.
  • Communicate with the coordinator before, during and after assignments.
• Complete required check in and check out reporting each workday.
• Take clear photos and provide updates when requested.
• Represent Furniture Unlimited professionally when interacting with sellers, customers, apartment communities and other partners.
• Keep the truck and work areas clean and report damage, mechanical concerns or safety issues immediately.
• Assist with additional stops or related field tasks when assigned.

• Coverage is Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• Remain reachable and responsive during your on call availability.
• Clock in when the assigned pickup, delivery or work begins.
• Daily reporting and record keeping is required
• Assignments and daily volume vary. Flexibility is part of the position.

Drivers do not have independent authority to deny or leave a scheduled pickup. If there is a concern involving weight, condition, access, safety, value or any other issue, the driver must contact the coordinator, explain the concern and wait for direction before leaving or declining the pickup.

• Over communicate. If you are unsure, contact the coordinator.
• Notify the coordinator immediately if you are running late, cannot reach a customer or encounter an unexpected issue.
• Do not make changes to an assignment without approval.
• Follow instructions provided by the owner or coordinator and complete all required reporting.

• Ability to safely move and handle furniture, including large, heavy and awkward items.
• Comfortable navigating stairs, basements, apartments, homes and loading areas.
• Reliable transportation to the designated starting location when required.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving habits.
• Dependable phone service and ability to send texts, photos and updates.
• Professional, respectful attitude with strong attendance and reliability.
• Driver will have good customer facing appearance, hygiene and follow Furniture Unlimited’s dress standards.
