About this Role – Truck DriverWe are looking for a qualified Truck Driver who has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for operating a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) to transport equipment, vehicles, tooling and freight intrastate and interstate between MJE job sites, maintenance facilities, office locations and field offices.
What You’ll Do- General yard maintenance while not driving
- Safety and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle to transport equipment, vehicles, tooling and freight intrastate and interstate commerce between MJE job sites, maintenance facilities, office locations and field offices.
- Inspect vehicle, trailer and all accessories prior to operation and ensure proper working condition
- Check shipping papers, manifests and permits to determine nature of load and any associated special hazards
- Inspect load prior to departure and ensure cargo is properly secured and fastened
- Operate vehicle in accordance with company policies and all federal and state rules and regulations
- Maintain trip records and complete a Driver Log as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)
- Ensure interior of commercial motor vehicle is kept clean
- Report all accidents, incidents of equipment, vehicle or property damage
- Follow the rules of the road while operating a CMV
- Choke CMV and trailer when not in operation
- Perform broad warehouse, yard work and shop work while not driving to include inventory management, vehicle maintenance, building maintenance, minor tool repairs and housekeeping
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment, vehicles, tooling and freight
- Class A CDL
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Proficient in hooking up, pulling, loading and unloading a lowboy trailer
- Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations
- Proven communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles
- High School diploma or GED
- A minimum of 2 years of CMV operating experience
