SalaryThe general pay scale for this position at MOH is $57,841.71 - $88,987.25 per year. Actual hiring rate depends on experience, education, responsibilities, location, and performance.
ScopeUnder general supervision, coordinates the month‑end close for assigned oncology practices, prepares financial reports, and performs general accounting functions. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities- Maintains general ledger, including preparing financial schedules and journal entries; maintains cash schedules, inspects account status, and transfers cash as necessary.
- Processes monthly close of all practices and management companies accurately and timely, ensuring accruals are appropriately made each month and reviewing G/L coding on invoices before checks are released.
- Works with Controller and management to obtain necessary information and explanations; ensures compliance with Management Services Agreements for all practices; ensures accurate accounting for new practices, including opening balance sheet and subsequent adjustments.
- Ensures all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly and supported by valid detail; reviews monthly reporting packages for accuracy, reasonableness, and completeness.
- Ensures timely submission of reporting packages to Controller for review and responds to inquiries promptly; meets corporate reporting deadlines.
- Provides various practice‑specific reporting as requested; ensures accuracy and completeness of fixed‑assets records, including depreciation; implements new fixed‑asset systems; records discounts/reserves as necessary; assists in annual budgeting; maintains knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintains confidentiality of all information related to patients, medical staff, finances, and cost‑effective health care delivery.
- May oversee functions of Staff Accountants or Accounting Specialists/support staff.
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business curriculum; two to five years of fiscal management experience. Prior health care experience preferred; CPA preferred.
Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination; requires standing/sitting for extensive periods; occasionally lifts up to 40 lbs.; requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
Work EnvironmentPerformed in an office environment with frequent interaction with staff, patients, and the public. This position is on‑site five days a week in Beltsville, MD.
