Overview

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing “fresh and easy meals” and providing a high level of customer service in the Deli department. You will arrange vegetables and sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches, assist with catering orders, and share knowledge of meats, cheeses, and other deli items. You will maintain food safety standards and participate in housekeeping and equipment maintenance as needed.

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related field.
• Be dependable and reliable; have an outgoing, friendly attitude and good communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to take direction and work effectively in a team; good phone and special-order handling skills.
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs. from 4" to 60" for up to 20 feet without mechanical assistance, up to 4 hours per shift.
• Stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitize work areas; operate slicing, wrapping, and cooking equipment; maintain safety and Weights & Measures regulations; obtain a Food Handler permit.
• Work in cooler and freezer environments.
• Other related duties as assigned.

The pay range for this position is $12.65 - $18.15 per hour. Pay is based on applicable experience and qualifications.
